Catalina Courthouse Announces
Reduction in Service
South district
Effective June 14, 2013, the Catalina Courthouse
will be in session every other Friday, only.
There will be no clerk to file documents at the Catalina Courthouse
other than on the alternating Fridays when the courthouse is open. A drop box is available at the Avalon Sheriff’s
Station, 215 Sumner Ave., Avalon, CA 90704 for the filing of documents that are
not time-sensitive.
NEW FILINGS:
Effective
June 14, 2013, all felonies previously filed at the Catalina Courthouse of the Superior
Court of California, must be filed at the Long Beach Courthouse, 415 W. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90802.
All in-custody misdemeanors previously filed at the
Catalina Courthouse of the Superior Court of California, must be filed at the
Long Beach Courthouse, 415 W. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90802.
All direct-cited infractions involving non-residents
of Catalina Island, previously filed at the Catalina Courthouse of the Superior
Court of California, must be filed at the
Long Beach Courthouse, 415 W. Ocean Blvd, Long
Beach, CA 90802.
TRANSFER OF PENDING CASES:
Effective
June 14, 2013, it is further ordered that all pending felonies, in-custody
misdemeanors, and direct-cited infractions involving non-residents of Catalina
Island at the Catalina Courthouse, are to be transferred to the Long Beach
Courthouse.
Dates previously set on these pending matters will
remain the same; only the location of the hearing and/or trial will change.
