Limited Jurisdiction Unlawful Detainer Cases To Be Filed At Five ‘Hubs’

Effective March 18, 2013, all Los Angeles Superior Court limited jurisdiction unlawful detainer cases must be filed in a regional ‘hub’ courthouse: downtown Los Angeles (Stanley Mosk), Pasadena, Long Beach, Santa Monica, and Antelope Valley (Michael D. Antonovich).

Existing limited jurisdiction unlawful detainer cases will be handled where they were originally filed until court notification is given to litigants prior to their existing unlawful detainer cases being transferred to a hub courthouse.

Boundaries for new limited jurisdiction unlawful detainer case filing locations can be found under LASC Local Rule 2.3(a)(2) at www.lasuperiorcourt.org.  These are established by the U.S. Postal Service Zip Code related to the location of the property.    Once the property’s U.S. Postal Service Zip Code is determined, parties should reference the attached table to determine in which hub the case must be filed.  No change in the filing location exists for those matters required to be filed at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

A copy of the attached table will be posted in every courthouse in order to assist in determining the new filing location.

The limited jurisdiction unlawful detainer hub courthouses are located in:
