The official language used for the content of the Los Angeles Superior Court public website is English. Training Requirements

You will be contacted by the Temporary Judge Program regarding 9 hours of training in these areas:

  1. 3.0 hours of Bench Conduct and Demeanor (In-person training only)
  2. 3.0 hours of Ethics (On-line training available)
  3. *3.0 hours of training in at least one of the following areas of substantive law; Small Claims, Traffic, Unlawful Detainers, Civil Harassment and/or Family Law [California Rules of Court, Rule 2.812 (c)] (On-line training available)

*Please note the Judicial Council on-line training for Civil Harassment and Family Law are in addition to the Temporary Judge Program training materials. If you are interested in certifying in these areas of law, please contact the Temporary Judge Program to obtain the training materials.
