What is the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program?
The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Los Angeles program is one of over 900 CASA programs in the United States. Each CASA program responds to the particular needs of its own Juvenile Court, but all share the mission of providing screened, trained, and supervised community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused, neglected and abandoned children. The Los Angeles program is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Volunteers are supported by a professional staff with experience in social work, mental health, education and family therapy.
