How do I request a postponement?

You can postpone the start of your jury service to a more convenient time. This can be accomplished by either calling the (213) 972-0970 number on the summons. There are restrictions on how far in the future and how many times you may postpone. In emergency situations you may exceed these restrictions by calling the assembly room number located on the front of your form, or by calling (213) 972-0970. You will not be able to postpone your service if you call the weekend prior to the week you are to start your service.

You may also request a postponement online by going to the jury website and selecting My Jury Duty Portal. Log in using the information provided on your summons. Select the MyInfo tab, then go to the My Summons tab to complete your jury summons. You can now select the Reschedule tab to request a postponement.

  • Important
  • If you have registered previously by calling (213) 972-0970, and have not previously registered online, you will need to select the MyInfo tab and complete the requested information before you can make any further requests online.
