Why are mileage fees only for one-way travel?

Unfortunately, Juror Services has very little control over the mileage fees paid during jury duty. This is set by Code of Civil Procedure, Section 215. All of the laws and rules (including mileage fees) governing jury service in California were enacted into law by your California legislators. We encourage you to contact your local legislator.
